About

About the Device Frame Tool

The Device Frame Tool wraps a screenshot in a clean device mockup — iPhone, Pixel, Samsung, iPad, or MacBook — with an optional caption, background colour, and drop shadow. Upload a screenshot, pick a device, and download a ready-to-use PNG for a landing page, a deck, or a social post. The frames are drawn on canvas in your browser, so your screenshot is never uploaded.

How to use the Device Frame Tool

  1. 1Upload your screenshot.
  2. 2Choose a frame: iPhone 15, iPhone 15 (White), Pixel 8, Samsung S24, iPad Pro, or MacBook Pro.
  3. 3Set the background colour, the padding around the device, and whether to cast a drop shadow.
  4. 4Choose how your screenshot sits in the screen: Cover fills it and crops the edges, Contain fits the whole thing in.
  5. 5Add a caption above or below if you want one, then download the PNG.

Common use cases

  • Presenting an app screenshot on a landing page or in a pitch deck
  • Making a bare mobile screenshot look intentional in a social post
  • Framing a before/after pair of UI screenshots for a case study
  • Adding a caption to a screenshot for documentation
  • Showing one product across phone, tablet, and laptop frames

Frequently asked questions

What resolution is the exported image?

The export is sized by the frame rather than by your screenshot — an iPhone 15 at the default padding exports at 510×960, with your screenshot scaled into the 400×850 screen area. There's no export-scale option, so this suits web pages, decks and social posts rather than print or high-DPI app-store screenshots.

Why is my screenshot cropped?

The default fit is Cover, which fills the screen area and trims whatever doesn't fit. Switch to Contain to see the whole screenshot, letterboxed against the screen background.

Are the frames photos of real devices?

No — they're clean shapes drawn on canvas, which is why they stay perfectly sharp with no glare or reflections. They're stylised representations rather than exact hardware replicas, and every phone frame is drawn with the same notch.

Is my screenshot uploaded?

No. The mockup is composited in your browser with canvas, and the image never leaves your device — so it's safe to frame screenshots of unreleased work.

Can I use these mockups on a store listing?

The frames are generic shapes this tool draws itself, not manufacturer artwork or photography. Do check the rules of wherever you're publishing before you submit — some app stores have their own requirements about device frames in store screenshots.
